The goal of this 4-week clinic is to introduce girls ages 12-14 (grades 6-8) to the skills required for playing club or high-school volleyball.
All drills and light scrimmages will be appropriate to the skill-level of the players. Weekly groups and teams will be mixed to promote team building and communication, key to the sport of volleyball.
PLEASE NOTE:
--> 1-3 pm session will be geared to rising freshmen players trying out for the MHS team and any club players, with more "in-game" simulations.
--> 3-5 pm session will be foundation skills, with light scrimmages using skills learned.
Beginners are welcomed at either session.
Our coach, Jerry Shu, is experienced as a current and former player, is a coach as well as being a parent, and is enthusiastic about youth development and interest in the sport of volleyball.
The only requirements are good shoes, comfortable athletic wear and a positive attitude. Knee pads are recommended for beginners, but are optional.
*** ALL REGISTERED ATHLETES WILL RECEIVE THEIR OWN VOLLEYBALL AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE PROGRAM ***
MEDICAL INFO: If your player has any kind of medical condition, please reach out directly to Jerry Shu, Coach at jerryshu@hotmail.com and CC Kevin Ryder, Director - Medfield Parks & Recreation at kryder@medfield.net
--> NOTE: Registration will be limited to 16 participants to maximize court time and coach-to-player ratios.
