2022 Polar Express Ride -- Saturday, Nov. 26!
Medfield Parks & Recreation has partnered with the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council to offer you the unique opportunity to take a ride on the Polar Express in Rhode Island!!!


We have reserved a limited number of tickets for a ride on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022 at 7pm. This is just for the tickets for the train ride; you will need to drive to Woonsocket, RI to take the ride (price does NOT include transportation to the train ride). The tickets will be inside the RUDOLPH car!

Anyone taking the ride will need to purchase a ticket (adults and kids). Each ticket is good for one admission on the train ride. TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

Some GENERAL INFO on the event:
--> Arrive at THE POLAR EXPRESSTM Train Ride Station at 1 Depot Square, Woonsocket, RI 02895 one hour prior to your train departure time. The station is full of activities for the kids prior departure and all of the Polar Express characters are there for complimentary photos.

--> Plan on staying at least 30 minutes after THE POLAR EXPRESSTM Train Ride returns from the North Pole. Santa stays for complimentary photos with the children and their families.

Some FAQs about the train ride:

How old do you have to be to ride the Blackstone Valley Polar Express?
All ages are welcome on the train, but anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. 

Where does the train depart from? 
The train leaves from One Depot Square, Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

Is free parking available? 
Yes, we offer free parking. Parking is available at the train depot, and several lots very near the station. Click HERE for area parking map.

What can I do if I miss the train? 
The train starts boarding 15 minutes before the time specified on your ticket and leaves promptly on time. There are no refunds or exchanges if you miss the train. 

Are ticket sales final? 
Yes, all sales are final. Sorry, there are no refunds or exchanges. 

What can I do if I forgot my train ticket?
It is very important that you bring your tickets with you on the day of the trip. We will be scanning your tickets as you enter the train depot.

Is THE POLAR EXPRESSTM Train Ride handicapped accessible? 
Yes, we have a wheelchair lift for non-motorized wheelchairs. Please let us know how we can best accommodate you before you purchase tickets by emailing us HERE

Do children wear their pajamas on THE POLAR EXPRESSTM Train Ride? 
Yes, both children and adults are encouraged to wear their pajamas.

Is the train heated?
Yes, the train is heated. 

Do you have a gift shop?
Yes, we have a gift shop with lots of official THE POLAR EXPRESSTM Train Ride items for sale. Items may be purchased through the shop's physical location at the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center, 175 Main Street, Pawtucket.  We accept cash and all major credit cards. 

Will there be a photographer on the Blackstone Valley Polar Express?
Yes, we have a photographer on each trip that follows the event around. Selections of these photos are posted here on our website and Facebook page. The purchase of your tickets allows the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council full usage of any photos that you and/or your family may appear in. 

Can I take photos with Santa, the Conductor and other characters? 
Yes, we encourage you to take photos with the Conductor, Chefs and the Engineer before and after the trip. There will be many photo opportunities available during your visit. Your child can visit with Santa Claus after the trip and they will be available for pictures at no charge. 

Are pets allowed on THE POLAR EXPRESSTM Train Ride?
Due to close confinement, pets are not allowed.

Are there bathrooms on the train or at the train depot? 
Yes, there are bathrooms on the train, as well as at “Guest Services” on the lower level of the train depot. “Guest Services” can be accessed by following the signs down a set of stairs around the outside of the depot.

Are the cookies you give on the train nut-free?
Yes, our cookies are nut-free and made in a nut-free facility.




My child is lactose intolerant; can I bring my own beverage and snacks for my child?
Our hot cocoa and cookies do contain milk, so please feel free to bring your own beverage and snacks for your child.
