Wicked Cool For Kids (Science/Lego)
LEGO ENGINEERING teaches basic engineering concepts, problem solving, & teamwork – all by playing and building with Legos™.
MOTION MAYHEM is a Wicked Cool investigation of fun physics and the science of motion.
Teaches basic engineering concepts, problem solving, & teamwork – all by playing and building with Legos™. This year, we have created three different content-based programs to choose from.
Machine Power looks at the uses of energy to power machines. We look at wind power design, flywheels, gears, pulleys and cams as we build land yachts, cars and walking mechanisms.
For the most proficient lego builders, we have Creative Engineering. Each lesson, there is a problem to solve which integrates the learning from the earlier programs. Working in teams of two, kids analyze a predicament and find an engineering solution that addresses all the needs of the conundrum.
A Wicked Cool investigation of fun physics and the science of motion. Design and test the rotational motion of tops, and analyze crashing cars as we delve into the principles of inertia. We'll examine energy transfer using take-home toys that illustrate potential and kinetic energy. Finding out about friction won't be a drag as you experiment with forces and how things move, using Sir Issac Newton's laws. Physics fun for everyone!
