Jennifer has been teaching for 30 years and has the training and experience to help you get the most out of this NO IMPACT program that will work every major muscle group in your body. This class is offered twice a week. You can choose either class, or both!
Step, Strength and Stretch with Jennifer Jaques
This step aerobics class gives you 30 minutes of great cardio exercise and then another 30-minute complete toning workout. Hand weights are used for an upper body strengthening section, and steps are adjustable so the workout is personalized to your fitness level -- a fast, fun and effective way to get your heart pumping! This can be hi or LOW impact - YOU choose (walk, run or jump). There are a limited number of hand weights and steps available.
Tai Chi with Jennifer Jaques
A form of martial arts practiced for both its defense training and health benefits. Relieves stress, lowers blood pressure and wonderful for improving balance. This 45 minute class will take participants through the 24 moves of the YANG “Short Form” – universal moves and performed worldwide for over 2000 years. No previous experience required.
Monday evening Yoga with Lauren Durso
Enjoy getting a workout while releasing stress. This Vinyasa flow yoga class synchronizes breathing with movement as you flow through a creative sequence of yoga postures. With this flow, you will create heat in the body to improve your circulation, increase core strength and gain more flexibility. You will establish awareness to your mind-body connection, leaving you feeling both rejuvenated and relaxed. Some previous yoga experience is recommended.
Wednesday morning Yoga with Lauren Durso
Start your day with a Vinyasa slow-flow yoga class. This class is designed to synchronize your breath while moving through a variety of yoga postures in a gentle flowing sequence. You will practice postures to increase your strength, balance and flexibility while you establish awareness to your mind-body connection. You will release stress and leave this class feeling both rejuvenated and relaxed. No previous yoga experience is required.
Zumba! with Meghan Collins
Working out and getting in shape has never been so much fun! Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movements. The dance routines feature easy-to-follow moves that tone your body while burning calories! Zumba welcomes everyone - from any fitness level or any age. Ditch the workout and join the party! Please wear sneakers or dance shoes, fitness attire, and bring a water bottle to class. (Meghan is a certified Zumba instructor who has participated in the class herself for the past couple of years.)
Ladies Snowshoe Trek with Nanci Cahalane
Join this invigorating winter 6 week class for the physically fit hiker! Embrace this part of the year-Hiking trails are serene during the winter months. Fresh fallen snow only adds to the magic! Plus, you can burn up to 1000 calories an hour on hilly terrain! Join other women and hike or snowshoe, (your choice), in some wonderful local park areas. Every week we will meet at a new location (a list will be given out). Please note, class is only cancelled for very inclement weather
Ladies Light Hike with Nanci Cahalane
Add dimensions to your walking or jogging routine. Do you like the idea of hiking but don’t want to go alone? Hiking is fantastic exercise as well as a great time to get some fresh air and explore new places. This class moves at a good pace, and we’ll be looking for hills!
We will meet at various local locations every week (a list will be given out)
The first week location: F. Gilbert State Forest, Foxboro.
Directions: From Norfolk center follow Rte. 115 south toward Foxboro. Stay on rte. 115 (crossing over route 1A at light) and turn left onto Pine Street. At lights turn right onto Route 1. Follow Route one for 1½ miles then turn left at lights on to Thurston Street. Follow Thurston for 1½ miles (pass Normandy Farms on your right).and turn left on to Mill Street. Follow Mill for approx. 9/10 of a mile and park in 2nd parking lot on your right; across from main entrance.
